Dotty About Cards
A friendly, informal club for all card makers

About Us

It all started a few years ago over a piece of Banoffee Pie.........

Joy, Sacha and Melanie met while working together for the local National Childbirth Trust (NCT) charity. We first met when we were attending the annual NCT pudding tasting evening and cake has featured strongly in our friendship ever since! We were all on the NCT committee and worked really well together. One thing we discovered we all had in common, apart from all having young children, was a passion for card making. We started to get together for the occasional evening round each others houses to make cards, drink tea and eat cake. Before long the occasional evening turned into a regular evening. We knew others who also enjoyed card making and soon our numbers had outgrown what would fit round a kitchen table.

We decided to hire a small hall, but at the first meeting we knew this was not going to be big enough. We looked around for a larger venue and discovered the newly-built Tower Hall in Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich. That was back in 2006 and we've been meeting there ever since. As we don't get the chance to make much at the meetings these days, the three of us still get together sometimes round each others houses to make cards, drink tea, and yes, you've guessed it...... eat cake!
